Special warning for men…

A friend of mine forwarded this message to me:

“एक वीशेष सूचना ………. अगर आप बस, रेल या कही से भी आ जा रहे हो और कीसी लडकी के हाथ मे फूल, धागा, चैन या ऐसी ही कोई चमकती वस्तू नज़र आये तो आप् तुरन्त वहा से दूर हो जाये। ये चमकती वस्तु ऱाखी भी हो सक्ती है. आपकी थोडी सी लापरवाही आपको भाई बना सक्ती है पुरुष हीत् मे जारी”

Translation:

“A special alert…. if you are traveling by bus or train and you see a girl with flower, threads, chain or any such shiny items in her hand, please move away quickly. That shiny item might be a Rakhi. A little carelessness on your behalf might be enough to make you her brother. Advisory for all males”

😉

For those of you who don’t know what rakhi is here’s a summary: “Rakhi, commonly called “Raksha Bandhan” is one of the most popular festivals of India. The Rakhi festival is a celebration of the pure and sacred bond between brothers and sisters. ‘Raksha Bandhan’ or ‘Rakhi’ is a very special day for brothers and sisters, when the sister celebrates her emotional bonding by tying a holy thread around the wrist of her brother. This thread, which symbolizes love and care, is called the ‘Rakhi’. “Rakhi” means the bond of protection. The Raksha Bandhan festival also connotes a broad significance that the strong must protect the weak from all the evils and dangers. ” (Source: Rakhifestival.com)

  2. 🙂 The reason I don’t write my posts in Hindi only is that a lot of the visitors to my site aren’t from India and thus don’t speak/read hindi that well and I want to make my thoughts accessible to anyone who wants to read them regardless of where in the world they are from.
