The map below shows the traditional dates when various states in India celebrate New Year:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.suramya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/img_1_1767253812254.jpg\" alt=\"When do Indians celebrate their New Year\" \/><br \/>\nWhen do Indians celebrate their New Year?<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Looking at the map it is clear that most of the country celebrates it in March\/April (depending on the Moon&#8217;s path) with April 13\/14\/15 the second most common date. It shows how diverse India is and that is the best part of being in India. Imagine getting to celebrate &#8220;New Years&#8221; multiple times a year with the excuse to celebrate.
